October Games: Last Night on Earth

We'll be playing Last Night in the first session. Here's a shot of some of the folks who worked their booth at a game con. The cards use photos of real people in costume but I don't know if these two are featured on the cards or not.

Billy was a bit surprised Sally was actually talking to him. The fact that his father was the sheriff made him the token outcast at school. But it seems Jonny “the Jock” and she just broke up again so most likely she was using him to get back at Jonny. Of course he wouldn’t complain about her attention.

But the cards were never in it for Billy, as he was rounding third base a scream of horror came from outside the school. It was filled with horror forced them both to dress quickly and run to investigate. They found Jonny working out in the Gym and all three of them went outside to find the source of the screams.

The school’s nurse, Rebbecca, was just past the parking lot and it looked as if she was being attacked. However, it took them just a moment to realize she was beating on some poor old man. Events changed again as they got closer and the smell of the rotting corpse Becky was attacking brought the whole scene into focus. All three of the high school kids couldn’t believe what was happening…

Except from the Donnaville Gazette:

The Dead Walk Again
story by Jason Hill

Thulson County Sheriff's office is still confirming the events from the prior evening, but from this reporters perspective of the scene it is apparent what happened. After sun set on the evening of the 14th the dead began to dig out of their final resting place. It has been established the old mill graveyard, just past Donnaville High School, is now empty of its previous occupants.

To add to this tragedy, recently re-elected Sheriff Anderson arrived at the scene early this morning to find his only son Billy dead. Currently Jonny Fullbright, Sally Wanton, and Rebecca Makewell are being detained at the Sheriff’s station for questioning. Our exclusive eye-witness, Father Joseph, arrived at the scene right before dawn and saw poor Billy go down in a horde of undead. In fact, the Rector said Billy made him proud as he selflessly took down many of the demonic phantasms while welding a chainsaw. The reverend also said, “I know Billy will never be at Sunday sermon again, but he is in a better place now. It was his heroics that allowed the other people from the school to survive. I don’t want to downplay what the others were able to do. They held and each had their own moments. I only hope God helps us find and put the remaining wraiths back to rest.”

Despite the Father’s well wishes it is important to everyone in Thulson County to begin preparing for another evening of horror. There are countless undead still unaccounted for and it is speculated they will attack again. Please board up your windows and stock up on ammunition. Leaving you with Caretaker Willy’s words of wisdom, “Aim for the head… hit ‘em there and they go down as quick as a two bit hooker.”

The Last Night on Earth game played very well and everyone had a great time. The goal for our heroes was to kill off fifteen zombies before daylight to win. While it seems an easy goal… our protagonists just weren’t able to get the final kill in. The game was very close with it coming down to the very last turn. Thanks to those who played - I had a great time introducing the game.
