Sign up for Junta on Sunday the 16th

THIS COULD BE YOU!!!
4 to 7 lucky Olympians can have the chance of becoming El Presidente de la Republicos dos Bannanas! And who wouldn't want to jump at the opportunity of draining a small dictatorship dry while pumping the money into your private Swiss Bank Account? Of course, to do that, you'd have to go to the Bank, with it's infamous Lobby of Assassins, who smoke cigars, drink espresso & wait for you to show up with your big wad of cash. Don't let that happen! Party at the Nightclub! Visit your Mistress! Or just hunker down in your Headquarters, plotting the coup that will finally bring freedom & democracy & the ability to send your political rivals to the Firing Squad! Yes, life is cheap in the Republic, and shots will be fired. But no one is ever out of the game, alliances are constantly forming & breaking, and everyone has an equal chance of retiring to that idyllic villa on the French Riviera. So join us in a very fun, very fast & fluid game of JUNTA!!! http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/242

I bet I can get the day off to come to my first game! That is, if there is no need for any past experience for this game...is there any need?

Antonio--

No Need at all! I've taught many different people this game (it's one of my all-time favorites). I've found that newbies & pros all have an equal chance. Some newbies even win their first game! The great thing about Junta is that you use the system to play against each other, rather than use each other to play against the system, which is a very common flaw in game design.

So please join us, the more the merrier! (as long as you have plenty of assasins >;-)

p.s. The image I sent in isn't working, so here is the link to it:

My dear Cousin Antonio,

The Presidente of Los Republicas de Bannanas wishes to inform you of his gratitude for your support in the last election and your willingness to serve the state in an important capacity. Unfortunately, the aid this year from (un-named superpower) is not so large as in years past and so some corners must be cut and even some of this regime's most loyal supporters will need to tighten their belts. I am confident that in years to come I, your Presidente, will remember your loyalty and reward you fully when the aid is more forthcoming.

PS If you see the Minister of Internal Security at the bank please do not be alarmed. He is merely beefing up security for the bank in order to halt the string of most regretful assasinations which have taken place there.

Sincerely Yours,
Alphonso Delahoya
Presidente Los Republicos de Bannanas
